Is it good time to travel in Sri Lanka during this economic Crisis?

The pearl of Indian ocean, the peice of heaven in South Asia is currently a big topic to discuss; The whole world has taken this beautiful country in to a serious discussion. But why?

Sri Lanka, for the very first time in the country’s history, is struggling to overcome the most tense economic crisis. The condition currently in the country is a major topic for discussion all over the world. this is apparently a crisis made purposely by the government of the country. The government has lead the fate of this beautiful country to tragedy through those of economical strategies they were following for a long period of time. The practices of Rajapaksha family including the president Gotabhaya Rajapaksha end up in a vast economical crisis. Their unwise principles and strategies towards the economy and unbearable debts from the countries lead to bankruptcy. It is obviously their failure affected the country to become indebted at its best. After the covid 19 outbreak, the export economy and the income gradually decreased. The main threat was to the tourism industry since there were no tourists arrivels to the country. Some countrues banned Sri Lanka as a travel destination. The drop of the industry hit greatly to the economy of the country; the major aspect of earning dollars was interrupted. Almost all the mployees of tourism indusry became unemployed and they have no way for livelihood. The majority of poeple became unemployed. Economy dropped in a sudden.

So the governance of the president, Gotabhaya Rajapaksha failed even to fulfill the basic needs of the country. Dollar rate became extremely high making the rupee to the ground root level. This couse in the lack of fuel, Gas, fertilizer for cultivations and many necessary imported commodities since the government could not afford them. Commodities were not sufficient as per the population. People had to spend hours in queues to buy fuel, Gas and even their basic needs.There are power cut all over the country as the power plants ran out of fuel. This resulted in inactivating many industries in the country. Within a very few months, the lives of people became really hard and tough.

People were struggling hard to survive in their day today lives because of the extremely high living cost. These difficulties end up in a giant protest against the government by majority of people specially against the president Gotabhaya Rajapaksha. Protestors needed the president to leave the presidency to get rid of this crisis. Protests continued and it became violent day by day forcing the leader to leave. In the sake of the power of people, Gotabhaya Rajapaksha resigned from the position. As a result Ranil Wickramasinghe was appointmented as the new president of Sri Lanka. The earlier times in Sri Lanka was challenging ans unbearable. Its like a curse people sufferes. Hopefully, the economic specialists lead the coutry to a good path after this tense situation.

Well, is it safe to travel in Sri Lanka now? 

The answer is simple and yes. Although Tourists in some countries were advised not to travel in Sri Lanka during this time of crisis, it is still the safest to travel.
